The Internal Archive Twitter account has posted pictures showing a Pixel 2 (Walleye) prototype complete with iris recognition technology. This allows you to securely unlock your phone by scanning your iris. Check the images out below.

Staring at a small screen all day? You’ll probably enjoy this laptop
I can accurately be described as a desk monkey. I spend most of my workday sitting behind a monitor (or two), and I know this isn’t news to anyone, but it can get old. As such, I’m always looking for ways to, um, spice up my desk life. In the past, that meant buying a bigger, wider monitor (verdict: mixed) or trying out a standing desk converter (verdict: recommended).
Over the last weeks, I tried something new: a transforming, foldable laptop. The verdict? The Asus Zenbook 17 Fold has many flaws, but it’s still one of the coolest ways to break from the tyranny of the desk. And you don’t have to give up much productivity. Let me explain.

Sorry Apple, I still much prefer Sony’s compact flagship
There are plenty of options to consider when it comes to smaller flagship phones, even if few of them are really what anyone would consider compact. You could pick up early 2022’s Galaxy S22, the more affordable Pixel 7, or the latest iPhone 14, as just three rock-solid examples that would serve most people very well indeed.
However, at 6.3 inches and 197g, Google’s latest small phone is still a bit too bulky for those after something little and light. The Galaxy S22 and iPhone 14 are better suited to this role, but they’re still rather stout and wide and, therefore, not always especially usable in one hand. They won’t necessarily fit snugly in your pocket either, though they’re much more pocketable than their bigger siblings.

I tried bone conduction headphones for running safety, now I won’t go back
Noise-cancelling headphones are incredible. There’s nothing like blocking out the entire world around you — until you almost get hit by a bus like my colleague Edgar with the Bose QuietComfort 2. As an avid runner, I think I take safety pretty seriously, but there’s always more to do. I run in the daytime, stick to populated places, and look both ways more than once. However, there are times when a speeding car or truck can sneak up on you on winding small-town roads.
There are a few ways to tackle this problem, but they all have flaws. Regular earbuds are out because they block sound too well, and streaming through my phone speakers is out because, well, not everyone wants to hear what I’m listening to. I’ve tried running in silence, but I can only tolerate that for so many miles. That leaves me with one option: bone-conduction headphones or, more specifically-suited for a runner like me, the Shokz OpenRun Pro.

Google just made the Pixel 7 the first 64-bit-only Android phone
- The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro now only support 64-bit apps.
- The Pixel 7 series is now the first Android phone to be 64-bit-only.
- This should provide a number of improvements like reduced memory usage and more security.
For years, Google has been working on 64-bit support, officially announcing policy changes back in 2017. Now the company has fully implemented that philosophy in its newest flagship phones — the Pixel 7 series.
In a blog post on its developer’s site, the Mountain View-based organization revealed some interesting news about its Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro handsets. According to Google, the recently released devices are now the first-ever 64-bit-only Android phones.

How to watch Twitch on Roku
If a streaming service exists, it’s usually available on Roku devices. A big exception to this, though, is Twitch, which Amazon pulled from the Channel Store despite the service’s massive popularity with gamers and other fanbases. There are workarounds however — here’s how to watch Twitch on Roku.
Read more: The best media streaming devices you can buy
QUICK ANSWER
To watch Twitch on Roku, the most dependable method is screen mirroring using Android, Windows, or Apple AirPlay. There’s no official Twitch app listed in the Roku Channel Store, and even unofficial apps have been pulled.
JUMP TO KEY SECTIONS
How to watch Twitch on Roku

While the official Twitch app for Roku is gone from the Channel Store, you can re-install it if you’ve ever used it in the past. Visit your Roku account webpage, click Add channel with a code, then try the code twitchtv. You’ll see a warning message during the process, but it should be safe to add.
If you haven’t previously downloaded Twitch, you can still try a defunct third-party client, Twoku. For that one, you’ll need to use the code C6ZVZD — it’s likewise missing from the Channel Store.

Neither of these apps are guaranteed to work indefinitely, or maybe even at all by the time you read this. Since they’re not officially supported, Amazon could easily break backend connections that the apps rely on.
How to cast Twitch to Roku
Since it’s handled entirely locally, screen mirroring is an option Amazon can’t derail. It’s still imperfect, though, given that mirroring displays a device’s entire interface, and there’s the potential for audio lag.
Compatible platforms include Android, Windows, and Apple AirPlay. Any current Roku device can be used for output, although Express owners should check that their model number is 3900 or later. The Express Plus 3910 only supports mirroring when it’s plugged into HDMI.
On your Roku device, make sure you go to Settings > System > Screen mirroring and switch the mirroring mode to Prompt or Always allow. If you choose the former, you’ll have to authorize with your remote every time you want to mirror something. If you’re using a Roku TV or soundbar, you should also ensure that Fast TV Start is enabled by going to Settings > System > Power. Otherwise you’ll have to wait through a long boot process every time you turn your TV on.
Unfortunately, there’s no single answer for how to start mirroring from Android — phone makers locate the command in different places and often use a variety of names, such as Display Mirroring, Wireless display, or Smart View.
Confusingly, one of those names is Cast. You have to do full mirroring, not just regular casting, the latter of which would cue a Roku to load a video in a native app. In this case, the app is probably missing.
As a sample guide, here’s what to do on a OnePlus 9:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Bluetooth & Device Connection.
- Tap Cast.
- Turn on Enable wireless display.
- Select the Roku you’re trying to connect to (make sure it’s your own, not a neighbor’s).

A guide to Google’s Digital Wellbeing
As technology becomes increasingly integrated into everything we do, it can sometimes distract us from the things that matter most to us. What was intended to be a tool to serve our needs can sometimes feel like the opposite; a stream of constant interruptions that demand our attention. Ideally, technology should improve life, not distract from it. Digital Wellbeing is a tool to help reduce the impact of devices and digital services on people’s mental, physical, social, and emotional health.

Whether you’re a casual gamer or want something with a bit more meat on its bones, there’s usually a game coming out to suit everyone’s taste. Some months are better than others, but there is usually at least one great new game on mobile every month. Let’s look at the best new Android games from the last month! You can also check out our picks for the best new Android games released in all of 2021.
The best NEW Android games from October 2022
Desta: The Memories Between
Price: Free (for Netflix subscribers only)
Destra is one of two Netflix-exclusive games to make our list this month. It blends sports with combat, where you land trick shots to damage opponents. That’s a fancy way of saying that you’re playing dodgeball. There are also roguelike elements to help keep things interesting. In terms of gameplay, it’s pretty decent, although you do get bounced back to the beginning of the game if you fail. It’s nice to see Netflix doing good work with these releases. A Netflix version of Oxenfree, a former member of this very list, is also available.
Homeworld Mobile
Price: Free to play
Homeworld Mobile is an RTS game that takes place in space. It’s based on the original Homeworld game, and your goal is to explore the universe, conquer opponents, and more. The gameplay loop is pretty typical. You get resource collectors, use the resources to build various things, and use your army and resources to conquer opponents. The graphics are decent, and the space combat is pretty well done. The game is a bit overwhelming at first, as the game throws a lot at you at the beginning. Once you get used to it, it’s a good overall game. The only issues we ran into were some connectivity issues.
MARVEL Snap
Price: Free to play
MARVEL Snap is a card dueling game. The gameplay loop is similar to other dueling games. You play games, unlock cards, get stronger stuff, and go back to dueling. What separates this one is how quickly games go. It boasts three-minute game times, and the game omits many of the long animations that other titles have. There are some other mechanics as well, like being able to up the ante when you think you’re going to win. This one is good, and as long as microtransactions don’t become an issue, it should remain good.
Masha and the Bear: My Friends
Price: Free / $2.99 per month / $19.99 per year
Masha and the Bear: My Friends is a kids’ game. It’s also similar to old Tamagotchi games. Players take care of their pets by feeding, healing, and dressing them. There are some mini-games and other activities, like tennis, a harmonica, and other stuff. The graphics are pretty decent, and everything looks and feels pretty good. This one has a subscription cost instead of the usual premium price tag. We understand if that turns you off to the game.
Match Puzzle House
Price: Free to play
Match Puzzle House is a match-three game. It’s similar in terms of gameplay to most match-three games. You match three shapes together, and it makes them disappear. Obviously, the more colors you match, the bigger the combo. On top of that, players earn a bunch of things to decorate a house that the game gives you early on. There is also the usual array of things like boosters to help you clear levels. It’s nothing really new, but it fits well with other match-three games.
MementoMori
Price: Free to play
MementoMori is a gacha RPG with idle elements. The game essentially plays itself while you watch and add things like speed or money boosts to increase your growth. What makes this game unique is its art style and story. The watercolor-style graphics are truly pleasing to look at. Additionally, the developers did an excellent job with the small stuff, like backstory, voiceover acting, and other stuff. This is definitely one of the better idle games we’ve seen in a long time.
Railbound
Price: $4.99
Railbound is a puzzle game where you set up train tracks. The idea is to connect the two railcars to the engine so it can haul them off. The mechanics aren’t complicated, and it’ll take maybe a few minutes to get acquainted with it. The game boasts over 150 levels, various obstacles, and other stuff. There are also no timers or energy counters to mess things up. It’s $4.99 with no additional in-app purchases or ads.
The Sigma Theory
Price: $6.99
Sigma Theory is a surprisingly deep strategy game. You run the Sigma division, and your goal is to get your hands on the Sigma Theory before rival nations. To do that, you hire various experts to spy on them and prevent their success. It’s turn-based, so whenever you do a thing, you have to wait until your next turn to do another thing. It’s a premium game, so there are no microtransaction mechanics to get in your way. The graphics aren’t anything to write home about, but the gameplay is addictingly good.
Spiritfarer
Price: Free (for Netflix subscribers only)
Spiritfarer is the second of two Netflix games to hit the list this month. It’s a management sim where you play the role of a spiritfarer. Your job is to ferry people to the afterlife. That includes building a boat, decking it out with upgrades, and more. In addition, there is a platformer element where you run through levels as well as farming, crafting, and cooking. There are quite a few things to do to keep players busy. This one is free, but only if you’re a Netflix subscriber.
T3 Arena
Price: Free to play
T3 Arena is an online, multiplayer, third-person shooter. It plays as you would expect. You choose your character, jump into the action, and use your guns and abilities to win. The game features a few different multiplayer modes, smooth graphics, and decent controls. The gameplay is chaotic, and the best matches seem to be when everyone joins in the middle for a good old-fashioned brawl. Playing is fun as long as you don’t take the game too seriously.

Samsung’s new ‘Maintenance Mode’ protects privacy as your device is repaired
- Samsung is releasing a new Maintenance Mode feature with One UI 5.
- Maintenance Mode creates a new user profile set with restrictions.
- The feature hides sensitive information from the people repairing your device.
Whether you cracked your screen or there’s some sort of malfunction, you can always send your phone in to get it repaired. But there is always a risk of data theft when someone else has your phone. Samsung’s new Maintenance Mode aims to protect your sensitive information when you send your phone in for repair.
When you think about it, your phone contains loads of information. Some of that information you probably couldn’t care less if someone else saw, but you probably also have private data you don’t want other people to see. For example, the phone numbers of family and friends, addresses, private messages, and maybe even credit card information.

- The upcoming Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus will offer a 200MP main camera.
- This camera is inferior on paper to 200MP sensors seen on previous phones.
